2011 Ford Mustang GT

The 5.0 is back, and it's back in style. These live photos confirm the new 2011 Mustang GT has as much presence as any production 'Stang, and with 412 horses behind the pony-badged grille, we're looking forward to getting behind the wheel.

Which is exactly what you can imagine yourself doing with these live shots. The exterior and interior of the 2011 Mustang aren't much changed, with Ford instead focusing on the powertrain upgrades for this year's enhancements.

Also available in the standard 2011 Mustang will be a 3.7-liter V-6 that puts out 305 horsepower--about even with the current 4.6-liter V-8's 315 horsepower rating.

  1. Love that shade of Gold - Hope that's a production color!

  2. That's sweat but you have your numbers wrong. The 2010 V-8's have 315hp and the V-6 coming out will have 305!

  3. That gold color is awful (as are the wheels) and the 5.0 badge doesn't look right. Sorta goofy. But I bet the engine is a peach.

  4. I hope Ford get up to date with the 2012 to go along with that beautiful motor. The 2010-11 retro mustang is a nice looking car.You can only do so much with an car way to heavy in the front, with that motor so far forward of the front wheels. It's way past time to bring it up to date. More in the lines with Aston, Jag, Benze, Audi A5. Pull that motor back about six inches, add independent rear. Then you will have a real american sports car. It's still just a 1980 with pretty body panels. The only thing new, is the 2011 price tag. I see some new minds and thinking at Ford. Maybe now. We'll get the real Mustang we all want and have been waiting for in 2012. Come on Ford, stop being penny penchers, and give us a real Mustang. You've impressed the inline boys with the retro stang. Now impress the men with a real performance car. I'm impressed with that new motor and the balance of the V6 model. But who wants a V6 stang.

  5. The legendary 5.0L will now have the Camaro running for cover! and putting Chevy back on the drawing board. As far as people say the live-rear axel should go, one of the main reasons why it hasnt, is because that axel makes the Mustang and Mustang, being completely true to its heritage. Yes, its as old as the Bible, but it keeps cost down and is fun to drive around bends, however, an IRS is probably not far from anybodys mind. Ford released 3 new colors (Ingolt Silver, Fire Red, and that Gold color above) for the Mustang n 2011. I think Ford has all the right moves with next years model, except, 1 thing that would truly make it an animal...DIRECT INJECTION!!! which i believe will be offered one day in the near future
