Sleek, stylish and designed to slot between the Scirocco and Passat CC in the VW lineup, the New Compact Coupe Concept is also thought to presage the next Jetta Sedan and even, possibly, a Jetta Coupe. As these live images show, it's definitely a well-formed car.

It was already being lauded as the VW coupe Americans will get to assuage the loss of the Scirocco, which isn't making the trip across the big pond. Unfortunately, VW currently has to plans to produce it.

Unlike the Scirocco, the NCC is a green car, not a sporty car. That's thanks mostly to its hybrid powertrain. At 56 mpg, it's an efficient two-door to be sure. But it's not completely soulless: it does manage 0-60 mph in 8.1 seconds and can carry on to a top speed of 141 mph. It sends power to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

I agree the Scirocco would have been a better choice aside from certain regulations but yet again gorgeous car and if they also offered the 1.6TDI we'd have a vehicle i'd go out and actually buy, unless that happens which i don't have my hopes up... But all this news of new Jetta or NCC me pissed. i don't like it somebody said on AB part that it seems VW is becoming Audi like and i see it now more then ever. I still love my jetta but i hope that this car can actually beat it's mileage..

Hi Guy's,
the Focus EV beats both the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf. If they could only manage to get the range in the 120-150 miles, it could become the undisputed EV champ.
