The team that created this C7.R rendering has previously created schemes for actual C6.R race cars

Corvette Stingray Concept that’s set to star in the upcoming Transformers sequel has created a lot of excitement amongst ‘Vette fans. In the movie the Stingray will be used for the Autobot Sideswipe but this rendering shows what the concept could look like if it were an endurance race car.
Starting with the basic Stingray, the guys at
BadBoyVettes have envisaged a C7.R complete with Corvette Racing livery and a “Jake” mascot featured on the hood. Incidentally, the team behind this rendering has actually worked with several Corvette race teams in the past, creating design schemes for the actual C6.R race cars.
As for the actual Stingray, the concept car was solely a design exercise and never intended to foreshadow a production model. The overall idea behind the car was to incorporate past design cues in a fully futuristic shape, but also to allow designers to work without any of the usual constraints required for production models.

I'm sure people from the Transformers movie had some involvement in the design so I can understand it looking a little weird.
