    Ah, but the Fifth Gear reviewer indicated that the lack of sound of the V-8 was part of what did not permit the Aston to be as enthusiastic as a Porsche 911 or Ferrari 360.

    Yeah, I noticed that and found it a bit strange. By all other accounts the V8 Vantage has one of the loudest enhaust systems on any car. I've personally heard it and can vouch for this. There's a valve that open up after 4000rpm that allows the full sound to be unleashed, though you can get this changed so its open all the time. Other reviews also agree with this. Maybe there was something wrong with the car?
