Honda has announced that the Civic Mugen Si sedan will officially go on sale in the US by mid-October. First displayed as a concept at last year’s SEMA Auto Show, the Mugen prepped Civic features a sports exhaust, full bodykit, lowered suspension and forged aluminum wheels, plus the standard 197hp 2.0L four-cylinder mated to a six-speed manual.

Mugen is a Japanese tuning house with very close ties to Honda, and has been enhancing and racing Honda vehicles since the 1970’s. Mugen was actually founded by the son of the Soichiro Honda, the man who formed Honda Motors. Honda has been selling Mugen models in Japan for years but this is the first time that the Mugen name will be attached to a model sold in the US.

The new Civic Mugen Si will be sold in a limited run of just 1,000 cars and will be priced under $30,000.
