We’re sure most of you would agree that no justification is really needed for posting up images of an AMG prepped model so enjoy this new gallery of the Affalterbach tuned CL mega-coupe. These latest shots show the CL65 in sunny California, its ‘natural habitat.’ The car is powered by a 612hp (450kW) twin-turbo V12 engine whose torque levels have to be electronically limited to 1,000Nm to preserve the transmission. You can see a video of it by clicking here or read our previous story with all the crucial details by clicking here. Otherwise, follow the jump for the full gallery.

  2. @Gus

I think the numbers are for engine displacement, so its just natural that they would increase. as for a 9.9 liter v12, i dont know if that will happen too soon from amg. I'm sure the next corvette will be somewhere around there though, gm engines have never been the most efficient....

  3. I think the numbers are purely for bragging. I know that engine displacement was once exactly represented by the numbers, but it has gotten out of hand.
Witness the "335i" which has a 3 liter engine, but has to say 335 so it won't be undersold by the E350. Now comes the G37, oh no!
    Nutso.
And I was kidding about the 9.9, I was pointing out the relentless upward trend. And even though the Corvette isn't that efficient, it is the most sports car you can buy with $60k...

  4. The exterior is not too shabby. But whoever designed - and whoever gave the green light to - that interior should be taken to Room 101...
