Updated with new cabrio spy shots.

Prototypes for Jaguar’s facelifted XK have been spotted testing in the UK and Germany ahead of the updated model’s debut at the Paris Motor Show in November. The new model will go on sale early next year as a 2009 model and will feature several styling and mechanical updates to distinguish it from the current car.

Visual changes include a new front bumper with revised air intakes positioned below the headlights, plus a redesigned rear bumper and LED taillights. The changes will appear across the lineup and will also feature on the performance XKR range and likely also the extreme XKR-R due next year. The final change is the new shark-fin antenna on the coupe’s deck lid. Previous versions featured a power-retractable antenna or rear-spoiler integrated unit.

While the engine lineup will remain relatively unchanged, the new XK range is likely to benefit from a stiffer suspension set-up and recalibrated steering. The interior, meanwhile, will be fitted with Jaguar’s new drive-select transmission interface lifted from XF saloon.

  1. One of the best looking cars out there. Always makes me turn my head when I see one.

    Bad stuff?

  2. I would suspect this car is carrying some styling mods for a greater performance version of the R raather than a facelift for the XK line. Just a guess its not like I know anyone inside Jaguar.

  3. Does this mean the Motorauthority banner is also getting a facelift? There are only minor differences in the front headlights as far as I can see.

  4. You said the Jaguar engine range remains unchanged? Isn't there one engine and you get a choice of a supercharger or not?

  5. I wish it could evolve to look like the ORIGINAL concept that was on the N/A show tour. Its still good looking but the concept was "gorgeous" per Jaguar ads. Tata, please revisit the concept XK and F-Type for that matter.
