The new Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG dominates the class in terms of power output aside from the Cadillac CTS-V, and both the Mercedes and the Cadillac offer the same or better luxury and refinement as the Lexus IS F.
The new C63 AMG is even a nimble, quick-handling car, rivaling the BMW M3 in its suitability for determined driving.
The BMW M3, of course, is something of a benchmark in the class, and though its power, weight, and other stats are very close to the Lexus IS F's, the M3 is greater than the sum of its specs.
Inside, the M3 is about even with the IS F in terms of fit, finish, and materials quality, but it gives up a bit of gas mileage and on-the-road comfort.
Finally, there's the Jaguar XF, which, in Supercharged or XFR forms will handily outperform the IS F, is also substantially more expensive.
The gorgeous, refined interior may be worth the extra price, however, and it's the one car in the group that both outpaces the IS F and beats it in day-to-day comfort.
