Why should I also consider these?
Every big luxury SUV wants to live up to the Range Rover reputation for fine taste, and the latest Range Rover itself takes the standard several notches higher.
It's truly a fabulous machine in many ways, while the QX56 almost matches it on fine finishes and exceeds it with three more spots for passengers.
The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class comes off a little more coolly, but as a diesel it gets great fuel economy, and has even more SUV credibility bent into its sharp fenders and its available off-road package.
The Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator are still battling it out for the bling buyer, with the Escalade winning on longevity but losing on its unconscionably high purchase price.
The Lincoln? It's...hanging in there.
