The idea of shoehorning a big engine into a small car is nothing new, and off the top of our collective heads we can name examples like the SHOgun, a Ford Fiesta infused with Taurus SHO power; the Mallett Pitbull Solstice, stuffed full of Corvette LS2 V-8 and Volkswagen’s own Frankenstein, the W-12 powered Golf GTI W12 650. Now, Italy’s Lazzarini Design wants to carry on the tradition by transplanting the 4.5-liter V-8 from the Ferrari 458 Italia into a Fiat 500 hatchback, with the resulting creation titled the 550 Italia. Wondering how to say “Dodge Dart” in Chinese? 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth first driveLas Vegas, if you haven't been lately, kind of sucks. While we're still not allowed to talk about the Fiat 500 Abarth's performance or other qualities--don't worry, we will be soon--we can show you this new ad--pitched at the recent media launch as an alternate Super Bowl commercial that was deemed a bit too saucy.
