Straight out of the box the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes with 640 horsepower of supercharged grunt. That’s already seen the car set a sub-7:30 lap time at the Nürburgring.

But in the world of muscle cars bragging rights matter, and right now the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Roush-tuned Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] Mustangs are offering in excess of 700 horses.

2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible

The expert Chevrolet tuner is working on a 740-hp ZL1 and on Wednesday revealed pricing for the upgrade, known as the Callaway Camaro SC740 package. The set price for the upgrade is $17,995, which when you add in the $62,135 price of the donor ZL1 brings the total to $80,130. However, if you order before January 3 the upgrade will only cost you $16,995.

Interested buyers can place their order at Chevrolet dealerships across the country. Note, Chevy itself only started taking orders for its ZL1 in September and availability of the stock car is still tight. It means only manual-equipped coupes can be ordered at present, with the automatic and convertible options only available for order from January 2017.

Callaway is yet to reveal the Camaro SC740 and says the final power numbers and model designation are yet to be finalized. The cars will come with Callaway’s own supercharger system and will be assembled at Callaway centers in either California or Connecticut.
