Monterey Car Week is known for its luxury and performance cars but this year’s event, currently underway, has seen the debut of an electric minivan concept from Chinese startup Iconiq.

Normally an electric minivan wouldn’t even cause a blip on our radar but this one’s been developed with supercar marque W Motors, the Dubai-based firm which is also in Monterey with its Fenyr Supersport and Lykan Hypersport supercars.

The Iconiq Seven has been in development since 2014 and as the name implies it’s been designed to carry seven. No other details have been released, apart from there being an electric powertrain within.

Production is yet to be announced but Iconiq aims to have a version on sale soon and is targeting taxi and other on-demand transportation companies.

The Seven concept was first presented on Tuesday at Concours on the Avenue. It will also be present on Friday at Exotics on Cannery Road.
