We're pretty sure no one is saying the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is slow. If someone does, you can show them this: John Hennessey running a stock 2016 Shelby GT350R to 169 mph.

It's important to note that, according to Ford, the 2016 Shelby GT350R doesn't have a speed limiter. Rather, it's limited to approximately 170 mph by its aero.

From the looks of this video, gearing also plays a role in that top speed.

Of course, this particular Shelby GT350R won't be stock for long, and it will likely be able to go much faster than 169 mph in short order. You know, once Hennessey slaps a bunch of upgrades on it.

The Texas tuner already offers an HPE800 package that ups the power from a measly 526 horses and 429 pound-feet of torque to 808 horsepower and 657 lb-ft of torque.

Why would you do such a thing? Because, this is America and there's no such thing as too much power.

We know what you're thinking: But 808 horsepower isn't enough! Don't worry, we're sure that the folks at Hennessey will come out with an HPE1000 kit sooner rather than later.
