You may have missed it but BMW this week unveiled a new 1-Series sedan. Unfortunately the German automaker has no plans to sell the car outside of China, at least for the time being. If it ended up here it would have been a nice rival to the likes of the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA. Don’t sweat it, though, as we hear Cadillac is planning to enter the space, possibly with a rear-wheel-drive model.

Speaking of the Shelby GT350, we just drove one of the 2016 models, this time away from the track. It didn’t take long to discover that we were in for an uncomfortable commute.

Jeep celebrated its 75th birthday by rolling out a Wrangler concept inspired by the 1941 Willys MB, the Jeep that started it all. Seeing them side by side, it’s impressive to see how much the Wrangler has managed to stay true to the original even after all these years.

Lamborghini has started work on an update for its Aventador, and this week we saw one of the prototypes. The Aventador has already exceeded the sales of its predecessor, the Murciélago, by a significant margin and with the updates made the sales should remain strong until a successor is launched.

This creepy thing is a sculpture that’s meant to remind people just how susceptible their bodies are to serious injury in car crashes. It’s called Graham, and it represents a human being that has evolved to survive car crashes.

One of the cars we recently drove is the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. It’s definitely our pick of the bunch in the C7 family. It’s the new sweet spot in the range, since it combines many of the track focused goodies of the Z06 with the naturally-aspirated V-8 of the Stingray… kind of what the Z06 used to be like before Chevy decided to supercharge the thing.
