The housing market is booming in metro Houston...and so, apparently, is the drag strip market.

Those looking for their own stretch of pavement where they can exercise their rubber burning rides can now pick up their own quarter mile of heaven.

Houston-area tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering is the current owner of the Lonestar Motorsports Park, a quarter-mile strip sanctioned by the International Hot Rod Association. And it's put the drag strip up for sale.

The price? $2.7 million, which isn't a bad figure for the land itself just off of Interstate 10 about 45 minutes west of Houston.

The drag strip sits on 55 acres of land and the sale will include air conditioned concessions, grand stands capable of seating 800, and all of the standard drag strip-style equipment (think "Christmas Tree" lights, a control tower, timing equipment, and a fuel barn).

In case you're wondering, Hennessey isn't selling its operations adjacent to the track. While it is unclear just why Hennessey is putting the facility up for sale, we can only hope it will help the tuner modify more muscle cars.

Because, you know, a 1,032 horsepower Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat just isn't quite enough for everyone.
