Whether you like it or not, autonomous racing, where cars dart around tracks without a human onboard, will soon be a reality. A exhibition-style competition called Roborace has already been announced and within the year will hold its first race. The cars competing were previewed in concept form this week.

The big news this week was the reveal of the Tesla Motors [NSDQ:TSLA] Model 3. The sporty electric sedan promises a range of 215 miles, a $35,000 starting price before incentives, and deliveries by late 2017. Its proven so popular that at last count Tesla had more than 130,000 pre-orders.

Jaguar’s uber-rare XKSS is about to become just a little more common. That’s because the British automaker this week announced plans to build nine continuation models. They're the original nine that were destroyed during the 1957 fire at Jaguar's Browns Lane plant.

Bugatti’s new Chiron was spotted in New York City this week. The car was likely being presented to potential customers ahead of the start of production later this year. At its launch, Bugatti said around a third of build slots had already been sold.

This beast is the Aston Martin Vantage GTE that will tackle the 2016 World Endurance Championship, where it will go up against race cars based on the new Ford GT as well as the Chevrolet Corvette, Ferrari 488 GTB and Porsche 911 in the GTE class. Among the changes for 2016 is the new aero regulations that have led to the pronounced rear diffuser shown here.
