We haven't heard much in regard to Michael Schumacher's recovery in the last few months. In fact, the last time we heard anything of significance was back in September of 2014 when he left the hospital to complete his recovery at home. Today, the former chairman of Ferrari [NYSE:RACE], Luca di Montezemolo, spoke briefly about the seven-time Formula One World Champion.

According to the Daily Mail, di Montezemolo told reporters, "I have news and unfortunately it's not good." That was all he would say, refusing to comment further.

A quick recap of how we got here: Back in December of 2013 Schumacher crashed while skiing and was left with life-threatening brain injuries. He lost consciousness for a while and eventually went into a coma. Doctors were skeptical whether he would even make it out of the hospital. Slowly but surely his condition improved and he was discharged from the hospital in September of 2014 to continue his recovery at home.

Schumacher's family has been very private about the situation.

We hope the best for both Michael and his family, and we will bring you more information as it becomes available.
