Porsche’s Cayman is due to receive a mid-cycle update late next year, but if you’re keen to hop behind the wheel earlier Porsche is sweetening the deal with the availability of a special Black Edition model.

Similar to the 911 and Boxster Black Editions launched earlier in the year, the Cayman Black Edition benefits from visual tweaks and numerous extras as standard. Some of the extras include 20-inch wheels, bi-xenon headlights, heated seats, and the Porsche Communication Management system with navigation, premium audio and park assist.

Additional standard content includes a sports steering wheel, door sill guards with “Black Edition” lettering, auto-dimming rear view mirrors, and headrests embossed with the Porsche crest. In keeping with its name, the Cayman Black Edition also comes with black paint as standard while Jet Black Metallic is available as an option.

Crucially, the car will also be one of the last Caymans to be fitted with a flat-six engine as the updated model is set to downsize to four-cylinder mills aided by a turbocharger. Power in the Cayman Black Edition comes from Porsche’s 2.7-liter flat-six engine and peaks at 275 horsepower.
