Owning a classic car is more popular than ever but looking after them, especially if they’re particular special models, needs to be done correctly in order to preserve the original condition. One of the most popular classic cars to own is the 911, and for owners of these there is the Porsche Classic department which continues to impress us with new and often reasonably priced products.

The department’s latest offering is a car care kit that has been developed specifically for the characteristics of earlier paints, soft-top fabrics and other materials. And Porsche says it extensively tested each of the products at its main R&D center in Weissach, Germany.

There are 17 individual products that make up the kit, including shampoo and cleaning clay for stubborn grime; polish and carnauba wax (the hardest of the natural waxes); synthetic materials cleaner; and acid-free wheel rim cleaners. Also included are the appropriate sponges, cloths and brushes for each, as well as a vintage-style back with a classic Pepita pattern.

Porsche hasn’t said how much the kit will retail for in the United States, but back in Germany it has been priced at 470 euros (approximately $525).
