Oh to have a powerful computer. We're assuming you need to have a solid machine in order to produce the kind of visuals we're seeing from YouTuber David Massieux. He recently posted a video showing his in-car view as he piloted a Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 around the 24-hour race layout at Nürburgring. The results are pretty remarkable as it's a visual delight delivered by the graphics of the Assetto Corsa sim.

Assetto Corsa is a racing sim that launched in early access form at the end of 2013. It then went forward with a full launch at the end of 2014. Since that time, a strong community has developed around the game, which itself has been created from the outset with the intention that it could be modified and improved by those that play it.

Right out of the box, the sim features a number of laser-scanned tracks and vehicles with realistic handling characteristics. After watching the video above, it's clear that the lighting and backgrounds were given equally precise attention as well. We'd have to imagine that David Massieux is running the game on a rig that's more than up to the task of delivering top-notch visuals. Our puny MacBook Pro laptops won't exactly fit the bill here.

Perhaps it's time to finally spend a little coin on a racing rig—especially after seeing what Assetto Corsa can deliver.
