You might expect Stephen King to employ a more sinister analogy to describe the wicked performance of his Tesla.

But rather than writing it "was killer," "went like a bat out of Hell," or had "demonic power," this morning on Twitter, the horror writer chose to compare his electric car to the workhorse of George Lucas' Rebel Alliance, the X-Wing fighter.

Stephen King Tweets About Dragging Tesla

The Verge first noticed his post, and while details are scarce—they're all literally contained in a 127-character tweet—the performance figures seem to rule out King's use of the older Tesla Motors [NSDQ:TSLA] model, the Roadster.

Official stats show the Lotus-based model hitting 60 mph in 5.1 seconds, suggesting that the best-selling author either got a fantastic launch in the P85, or a less-than-stellar one in the P85D, where its "Insane Mode" will allow it to achieve the speed in just 3.1.

Regardless, we're glad to see King enjoying himself at the drags.
