Dutch sports car brand Donkervoort is back with a new version of its D8 GTO. The new version is named after the Bilster Berg race track in Germany and celebrates the establishment of Donkervoort’s new German arm located at the track itself.

The unique location of Donkervoort’s German arm created the opportunity for extensive testing and development of the D8 GTO. This resulted not only in setting the lap record for a production car at the track, a time of 1:46.12, but also in various new developments and updates for the D8 GTO.

The new D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition features the same specification as the car that set the record lap time. The car weighs just 1,532 pounds and produces 380 horsepower from its Audi-sourced turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine. This is enough for 0-62 mph acceleration in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of around 167 mph.

Some of the specific upgrades include a lighter flywheel for the engine, a racing-style clutch, new Intrax shock absorbers, a stiffer roll cage design, Hankook semi-slick tires, and a new anti-roll bar at the rear.

The special edition is instantly recognisable thanks to the unique design of the nose. The dark nose section, made entirely of carbon fiber, helps to save weight, increase stiffness and provide a more aggressive look for the D8 GTO. There are also special badges, a dash plaque and a new data logging display with GPS.

Pricing for the Donkervoort D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition starts at 194,000 euros (approximately $231,125), and just 14 examples are destined for production. Sadly, with Donkervoort’s products currently unavailable in the U.S., none of these beauties will be ending up here.

Donkervoort’s German arm will become an important car development and sales point in the coming years. Also, existing Donkervoort owners can go there for the maintenance, service and repairs on their cars.
