The Alfa Romeo 4C is Motor Authority’s Best Car To Buy 2015 not just because of its sexy style or carbon chassis, but because of the unique experience of driving the sporty Italian coupe. Soon, the 4C will be joined by the 4C Spider, seen here undisguised on the streets of Andalucia in video from Spain's Motor.es.

Adding the element of open-air motoring to the 4C’s already very heady mix of driving fun and ferocious sounds, the 4C Spider should prove to be a very interesting car, indeed.

Displayed earlier this year as a concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is expected to come as a production model in the first half of 2015, just shy of a year after the 4C coupe was introduced to America.

Thanks to its carbon monocoque chassis, the 4C Spider should prove to be nearly as rigid as its hard-top counterpart, though when the concept was released, Alfa did mention a re-tuned suspension as part of the Spider’s package—hinting at a slight loss of rigidity in the convertible conversion.

Look for more details as the car’s production debut draws nearer—perhaps with an official announcement as early as the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
