The internet is great for all sorts of things, but is a wonderful resource if you happen to love watching races between Lamborghini supercars, and fighter jets. In its latest battle, the Gallardo-replacing Lamborghini Huracán takes on a Sukhoi Su-27 'Flanker', an enormous twin-engine Russian fighter jet.

The result is, predictably, a little one-sided. Despite the Lamborghini's excellent lower-speed acceleration—its 5.2-liter V-10 is good for a 3.2-second 0-62 mph dash—the jet gains the upper hand as both pass the camera's vantage point. From there, each of the jet engine's 27,560 lb-ft of thrust comes into play and the fighter is quickly airborne. It then goes ballistic before twisting 180 degrees, pulling a loop and racing back down the runway in the opposite direction.

And those previous Lamborghini versus aircraft races? Similar outcomes, whether against a Panavia Tornado or an F-16 Fighting Falcon. Lamborghini itself is partial to planes too, having launched its Veneno Roadster on the deck of an aircraft carrier...
