The fastest roadster Aston Martin has ever built will join the family on August 14 as part of the festivities leading up to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, California.

Powered by a 565-horsepower 6.0-liter AM28 V-12 engine, the V12 Vantage S Roadster joins the hardtop V12 Vantage S coupe in the range, offering its top-down take on a 201-mph top speed and 0-60 mph acceleration in just 3.9 seconds.

The V12 Vantage S Roadster will carry many of the same features and upgrades found on the coupe, including CNC-machined combustion chambers, hollow cam shafts, Aston Martin’s SportShift III seven-speed automated manual transmission, and, naturally, rear-wheel drive only.

A three-stage traction and dynamics control system offers Normal, Sport, and Track modes to help control the fierce power and rear-drive dynamics. The settings also adjust suspension damping and ABS settings to further enhance performance.

Visually, the V12 Vantage S Roadster gets a carbon fiber grille insert backed by black or titanium silver mesh, optional lightweight forged alloy ten-spoke wheels, new interior trim, carbon fiber seat backing, and an optional carbon fiber pack that adds accents inside and out.

Alongside the delicious V-12 roadster, Aston Martin will show off its DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo prototype, which makes its North American debut on the Monterey Peninsula.

The 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster will hit the streets later in 2014.
