Add in a tough new competitor in Porsche and Toyota's prototypes and drivers looking fiercer than ever, and all bets were off from the moment the checkered flag waved.

But despite all of its troubles, despite all hopes of a podium, much less a win, seeming out of reach after just the first eight hours, Audi's three teams kept pushing at maximum. And the race came back to them.
