Toyo Tires, Monster Energy and professional skier and rally driver Guerlain Chicherit are gearing up to grab one of the most spectacular automotive records--the longest car ramp jump. The current record was set in a high-profile stunt by Formula Drift champion and rallycross driver Tanner Foust, whose 332-feet leap broke the record on May 30, 2011. Chicherit is aiming to break the 360-foot mark in his own record attempt, which will take place this Sunday, March 16, in the scenic French resort of Tignes.

Where Faust set his record in an off-road Team Hot Wheels truck--with a course set up to look like a section of Hot Wheels track--Chicherit will attempt his own jump in a similarly-modified MINI Countryman off-road racer. He's no stranger to crazy stunts in the MINI either--in February last year, Chicherit nailed a perfect "unassisted" backflip from a static ramp. As well as four Freeride Skiing World Championships under his belt, the driver can add the 2009 Rallye Raid Championship to his tally.

Amy Coleman, senior director of marketing at Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp, says "We are thrilled...to support Guerlain in his Guinness World Records title attempt to complete the world’s Longest car ramp jump.  He is a proven champion and truly lives the all or nothing attitude embodied by our athletes and our tire owners." You can catch Guerlain's previous backflip record, and Tanner Faust's Hot Wheels jump, in the videos below.
