Jaguar’s upcoming XE, a small sedan to rival the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, has been spotted in prototype form. The new car will be revealed later this year but unfortunately it won’t be on sale in the U.S. until sometime in 2016.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles boss Sergio Marchionne has confirmed that Maserati’s new Levante SUV will enter production in 2015 at the company’s Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy. Rather than adopting the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s platform, the new Levante will likely adopt a modified version of the platform underpinning Maserati’s Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans.
Chrysler has issued a response to news that 93 examples of the original Dodge Viper, including many rare pre-production models, are to be destroyed. Apparently the automaker thinks none of the cars have much historic value.
