Volvo has confirmed that the third and final concept from its series of forward-looking designs that started with last year’s Concept Coupe will be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show early next month. Volvo hasn’t said what form its third forward-looking concept will take, but a sedan or perhaps even a four-door coupe are the most likely options.

The original Concept Coupe drew its inspiration from Volvo’s classic P1800 and previewed the new look that would grace the automaker’s next generation of models, starting with the 2015 XC90 due out later this year. This was followed by the Concept XC Coupe unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, which was built to showcase Volvo’s new look on the form factor of a crossover.

We should know what form Volvo has chosen for its third concept soon, as the 2014 Geneva Motor Show gets underway on March 4.

All three of the concepts are based on Volvo’s new SPA modular platform that will form the basis of all the automaker’s next-generation models from the S60 up. All three of the concepts also feature Volvo’s new Drive-E engines, which come in four-cylinder configurations only and are destined to be used in the automaker’s complete lineup of vehicles in the very near future.

Stay tuned for an update.
