For a few years now, Chevrolet has been left to simply stare at the tailpipes of the Ford Raptor as it leaves the pavement. Dirt, jumps, and serious fun are in store for Raptor owners that truly utilize and enjoy their vehicles properly. Now though, it seems there's a Chevy out there that is poised to battle with the current king of production off-road trucks. It's called the Chevrolet Reaper, and it's the brainchild of Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort Automotive.

Starting with a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, the teams at Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort Automotive add in the necessary bits of bolt-on evil required to crank up the aggression. On the outside, the Reaper receives a new front fascia along with skid plates and bumpers. There are LED running lights that work with the optional 17-inch bead-locked wheels and off-road tires to suggest that this truck is quite at home in the dirt, sand, and mud.

Performance enhancements include upgraded suspension from Fox Racing and a Corsa exhaust. Since we're dealing with Lingenfelter here, there is also an option to add in a supercharger and some additional engine modifications. Those sound like must-checks on the option box to us, since there's most likely some additional weight being supplied over the standard Silverardo.

The conversion kit to turn a Silverado into a Reaper will be offered at select Chevrolet dealerships. Expect more information to come flowing soon, and expect a head-to-head Raptor versus Reaper battle to pop up shortly after that happens.
