The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been revealed. You can catch the photos and full details right here.

Bow-tie brand fans are gearing up for next week's Detroit Auto Show and the launch of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Like many things in this brave new Internet world though, they won't have to be in Detroit to witness it.

Chevy will live-stream the launch of the Z06 on January 13, beginning with a special event at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time; the reveal itself happens at 10:00 a.m. As if the new Z06 wasn't good enough, Chevy will also unveil the Corvette C7.R, the latest version of the Corvette sports racer.

The 2015 Z06 has been the subject of almost as much speculation as the Stingray it's based on. Rumors have pointed to V-8 engines of varying sizes, from a turbocharged 4.5-liter to a naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter. However, the most likely candidate seems to be a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8--codenamed LT4--that should produce around 600 horsepower.

The Z06 should also be the perfect platform for the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) Chevy will offer as an option on 2015 Corvettes. The PDR system will allow drivers to record video and add telemetry overlays. According to Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter, it will essentially provide the video quality of a GoPro with the video quality of a VBox.

What's certain is that the Z06 will be a step up from the Corvette Stingray Z51, and it will have to be a big step to outshine that car's combination of performance and poise.

We'll see how the Z06 measures up when the covers come off next week. After you watch the live reveal, be sure to check back here for all of the details and plenty of live photos.
