The coupe version of the stunning Jaguar F-Type convertible sports car is finally here, and it’s due to hit showrooms just in time for summer priced from a very reasonable $65,000. The car was one of the stars of the recent 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show and we bet it will be one of the stars in the luxury sports car arena too.

Rated at 550 horsepower (55 horsepower more than the F-Type V8 S convertible) in its most potent form, called, appropriately, the F-Type R, the new coupe should offer up almost supercar-like performance. Thanks to its extra horsepower, Jaguar claims the F-Type R variant will hit 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds and carry on to a limited top speed of 186 mph.

The other two engines are the same as found in the convertible, with the base F-Type Coupe scoring 340 horsepower from its 3.0-liter supercharged V-6, and the F-Type S Coupe rated at 380 horsepower. They’re good for 5.1 and 4.8-second runs to 60 mph, respectively, and top speeds of 161 mph and 171 mph.

In terms of styling, the look is very much like that of the F-Type convertible we’ve come to know and rather seriously enjoy. According to director of design at Jaguar, Ian Callum, the F-Type Coupe’s look is reflective of the car’s performance mission.

“In F-Type Coupe, I believe we’ve got it right,” he said.

We can’t help but agree.
