Special edition models are a large part of the Viper’s legacy. Reinforcing this tradition, SRT has decided to launch a new special edition version of its Viper supercar: Introducing the "2014 SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon Special Edition Package".

The name of the latest special edition is quite a mouthful but the benefits of the car are easy to digest. Available exclusively in premium Viper GTS trim, the new special edition can be easily recognized by its unique metallic matte exterior. This is the only Chrysler Group vehicle that features the special paint, whose metallic finish adds depth while the dark matte color amplifies the Viper’s sinister quality.

In addition to the special paint job, the exterior is dressed up with chrome wheels with a five-spoke ‘Rattler’ design; glossy black finish for the GTS badge; satin black exhaust bezel; carbon fuel filler door; orange brake calipers and carbon fiber brake ducts.

Luxurious interior accents include Alcantara and Nappa leather trim with orange accent stitching. Orange accents are also added to the door panel and instrument panel. Carbon fiber accents are added throughout the center stack, door panels and steering wheel, and an exclusive carbon GTS badge adorns the dashboard.

No changes have been made to the drivetrain, which means under the hood sits a handcrafted, all-aluminum 8.4-liter V-10 delivering 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque.

Only 50 examples of the 2014 SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon Special Edition Package will be built, starting from January of next year.

“We’ve been waiting for the right time to use this striking new exterior color at the Chrysler Group and as the flagship for the SRT brand, the Viper is the perfect vehicle to showcase this combination of finishes and details to create such a unique look,” SRT CEO Ralph Gilles said in a statement. “The Viper’s unique, hand-built and hand-painted process allows us to create these ultra-exclusive special series builds.”
