2015 BMW 2-Series leaked
These are just a handful of photos posted up on enthusiast website 2Addicts which reveals the new 2-Series. The car is expected in showrooms next spring, as a 2015 model. It will arrive as a coupe but will be joined later by a convertible variant.
Engine options, at least here in the U.S., should mirror those offered in the 3-Series range. That means a base 228i model rated at 240 horsepower followed by a more potent 235i with 300 horsepower on tap.
The M235i seen here is a M Performance model. BMW currently offers a M135i hatchback overseas, which comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter six good for 320 horsepower, and we suspect the same engine will be offered in the M235i sold locally. According to leaked info, the M235i will be good for 0-62 mph acceleration in just 4.8 seconds with the car's optional eight-speed automatic (5.0 seconds with the six-speed manual), and a top speed of 155 mph.
Visually, the M235i will be differentiated from regular 2-Series models by larger air intakes, 18-inch M light alloys and side mirror caps in an aluminum finish. The car will also benefit from performance attributes such as uprated brakes and sport-tuned suspension.
