Featured in the video above is Giorgio Sanna, Lamborghini’s chief test driver for both its production car and motorsport programs. He replaced Valentino Balboni, who officially stepped down from the role back in 2008 but has continued to influence Lamborghini's cars in a consulting role.

Sanna is primarily responsible for the handling of Lamborghini’s cars and starts driving prototypes of future models up to three years before they reach the market. He also participates in Lamborghini’s one-make Blancpain Super Trofeo racing series, where he sometimes races for the factory team.

Currently, Sanna is helping to fine tune the Gallardo-replacing Cabrera supercar. Don’t expect a “Sanna” special edition, however. Previous tester Balboni served Lamborghini for almost four decades before a car was named after him.

Another great Lamborghini tester was New Zealander Bob Wallace, who passed away last month. He was the company’s chief test driver from 1964 to 1975 and was responsible for the legendary Miura Jota.
