Ford may have retired the Mustang Boss 302 from its lineup but the racing version of the car, the Mustang Boss 302S, will live on for at least one more year.

Ford Racing is currently taking orders for its 2014 Mustang Boss 302S race car, which once again will be aimed at competitors in the various SCCA and NASA classes.

For anyone wishing to compete in the Grand-Am Continental Challenge Series, Ford Racing is also preparing a Mustang Boss 302R for 2014.

There aren’t many changes to the previous year’s specification, however, a Grabber Blue paint scheme is available at no extra charge and Satin Black is offered for an additional $5,995. The standard color remains Performance White.

Other new options for the 2014-spec car include BBS wheels for $2,410, seam welding for $4,500, and a larger Recaro seat for $700.

Pricing for the basic car starts at $89,995. Production is scheduled to commence at the end of the year, just in time for the start of testing for the 2014 motorsport season. As in previous years, only 50 Mustang Boss 302S race cars will be built.

All versions come with a 5.0-liter V-8 Boss racing engine with custom cooling and fuel systems, a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, and a 3.73 SRA with a Torsen rear differential. The cars also come with adjustable suspension, 19-inch wheels housing four-piston Brembo brakes, and a six-point roll cage.

Thanks D for sending in the tip!
