There was plenty of supercar news this week, with news spanning the past, present and future emerging.
One of the supercars of the future is the Type 991 Porsche 911’s GT2 variant, which was spotted for the first time in test mule form.
Due out next year as a 2015 model, the latest 911 GT2 is expected to be the fastest road-going 911 to date, possibly even eclipsing the performance of the previous 911 GT2 RS.
The test mule is using the makeshift body of the latest 911 GT3 but Porsche is fooling no one. Huge intakes on the flanks of the car, widened wheel arches and a more aggressive rear wing all hint at the performance of the machine seen here testing.
We’re especially enamored by the huge wheel and tire combo at the back of this test mule. Oh yes, we’re looking forward to watching development of the 2015 911 GT2 as it unfolds.
Another future model we’re keen to test is the 2014 Mazda 3
, which was revealed this week ahead of its sales launch early next year. The car features the latest iteration of Mazda’s KODO design theme, and we think it’s the best yet. The best part is that the current model’s smiley face is finally gone.
Jaguar has managed to develop a supercar whose performance and technology is on par with similar models coming from Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche. Sadly, Jaguar’s supercar, the C-X75, will never be built. Jaguar is still teasing us with its beautiful design, which simply looks amazing in this blue color

No, this isn’t Nissan’s attempt at building a UFO. It is an advanced electrified race car
the Japanese automaker plans to field at next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Nissan hopes to use the car to develop new electric car technology that will benefit both its road cars and a potential LMP1 prototype.
One of the oldest car brands born in the Principality of Monaco, Montecarlo Automobile, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and has rolled out a new supercar as part of the celebration. The supercar is called the Montecarlo Rascasse and it comes powered by a V-12 delivering over 500 horsepower to the wheels.
