Mercedes-Benz’s newest sports car, the Mercedes-AMG GT, is almost here, and now, just a few weeks out from the car’s reveal, we have a series of tasty videos to ogle. In the videos, the engineers working on the car hint at its performance, with one even boasting the new GT will have go-kart-like handling.

The GT sports car will go up against the Porsche 911 but will be powered exclusively by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission mounted at the rear, and at present has only been confirmed to spin the rear wheels.

The base GT is expected to pack about 455 horsepower while a sportier GTS model will bring 503 horsepower to the table. There will be other variants, too, including a convertible and high-performance Black Series.

Mercedes will pull the covers off the GT sometime next month, ahead of an official world debut at the 2014 Paris Auto Show in early October. Sales in the U.S. are expected to commence by next spring.
