The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray’s first appearance on the silver screen is likely to be in the new Marvel Comics-themed blockbuster Captain America: The Winter Soldier, due out on April 4, 2014.

A black version of the upcoming sports car was recently spotted on a film set for the movie, located on the National Mall in Washington D.C.

YouTube user Jason Vandervliet was able to make this video and confirmed that actress Scarlett Johansson was seen driving the car as part of her role as Russian-spy-turned-American-ally Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow.

Jalopnik points out that the video also features the movie’s director, Chris Evans, who is seen walking up to the car and presumably giving instructions to its driver.

So far Chevrolet has only announced its Corvette Stingray (both coupe and convertible), which will serve as the base trim of the new seventh-generation ‘Vette and have a starting price of just $51,995 when you include destination. Not a bad deal considering you’ll get at least 450 horsepower under the hood, 0-60 mph in under 4.0 seconds bragging rights, and street cred in spades.

The car doesn’t go on sale until the third quarter of the year, so it’s not clear if the black example seen here is a pre-production version or one of the first production models.
