We're still eager to do a seat-to-seat, back-to-back comparison between the standard-bearing Porsche Boxster and the all-new 2014 Jaguar F-Type.

While there's really no substitute for that time behind the wheel—especially when we're talking about sports cars—in the meantime we're taking a look at how these two cars fared when you factor in all the practical aspects considered by our companion site, The Car Connection. Oh, and we threw the Porsche 911 in the mix, just because.

These cars vary quite dramatically in layout, with the F-Type's front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and the Porsches' engine behind the driver. So is the aesthetic experience, with forced-induction V-6 and V-8 engines in the Jag versus easy-breathing flat sixes in the Porsche models. Yet their performance times are in the same league.

We give the F-Type a '10' in features, and that's really one of the factors that nudges the Jag into first place. Although the Boxster's trims and materials might not be quite in the same realm, it does offer some of the same items. For comfort, we'll leave the Porsches for those taller drivers, though; in our First Drive of the F-Type, we found its cockpit to be just a bit snug.

There's one thing that this Compare Cars piece doesn't cover, of course, and that's the lust factor, and that's important for a sports car. Which one has the most sex appeal, and why? Let us know in your comments below.
