One of the biggest tuning events for Audi and Volkswagen fans, the Wörthersee Tour, is about to kick off in Austria, and we hear a hardcore GTI concept previewing a future version of the popular hot hatch will be unveiled. Could it be the lightweight GTI rumored to be in the works? Only time will tell.

We still can’t believe someone was crazy enough to build their very own Tumbler Batmobile, but here it is under construction and soon to be ready for its Gumball 3000 rally debut. The vehicle was commissioned by Saudi Arabia’s Team Galag, which this year sees its second Gumball rally, and is being built by America’s Parker Brothers Concepts.

The VF Holden Commodore, a car that will eventually be sold here as the 2014 Chevrolet SS, will be getting its own high-performance variant complete with a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V-8. This is the same engine found in the Camaro ZL1 and with any luck it will also be offered on the upcoming SS.

You'll find all of this and more in today's car news headlines from around the High Gear Media network right here at Motor Authority.
