The Detroit Auto Show's press days are over, but it's now open to the public, so many of you are getting your first in-the-metal look at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Here's our up-close look at the car, offering a look at what's new, what's hot, and what makes the new Stingray a contender on the global sports car scene.

Of course, you'd expect any relatively new Corvette to hold its own on track, but the Stingray aims to bolster that track creed while mixing in a much-needed dose of refinement and interior technology. At first glance, it looks like Chevy has succeeded in taking the Corvette to the next level.
