General Motors has told its dealers that it is planning to introduce nine new or significantly updated Buick and GMC models over the next 12 months, starting with the recently updated 2013 Buick Enclave and 2013 GMC Acadia this fall.

This will be followed by the new 2013 Buick Encore compact crossover, as well as updated versions of the Regal and LaCrosse sedans coming in for the 2014 model year.

The other four models include new GMC Sierra and Sierra HD pickups, as well as GMC Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs.

While we already knew about most of these vehicles, this is the first time that GM has confirmed it plans to introduce updated versions of the Regal and LaCrosse. The 2014 Regal, we’ve already seen spy shots of. It will get some revised styling and possibly even the introduction of a new Buick Sport Wagon variant based on the European Opel Insignia Sports Tourer.

As for the updated 2014 LaCrosse, also expect to see just minor changes like new bumpers and revised light graphics. The interior will be where most of the changes will be taking place. Expect higher-quality materials, new LED ambient lighting, and capacitive touch controls on an updated center stack.

Expect to see many of these new cars in the not too distant future, with some likely to debut at November’s 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Stay tuned for an update.
