The sleek and sultry electric Infiniti Emerg-E we first saw at this year's Geneva Motor Show will make its North American debut at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

While we've already brought you live photos of the car, as well as all of the official details, there's something about seeing a car like the Emerg-E amongst some of the best vehicles the last century has brought us that can either boost it to truly world-class design status or show its weaknesses.

We think the Emerg-E will compare well with the modern and classic hardware that will also be roaming the Concours grounds, but we'll have to see what our eyes and our lenses tell us this coming weekend.

The Emerg-E will be displayed at the Infiniti Moments of Inspiration stand at the top of Peter Hay Hill--a place typically reserved for the modern manufacturers' latest offerings.

Whatever the class of comparison, however, the Emerg-E stands on more than just all-electric laurels: it packs 402 horsepower from twin electric motors mounted amidships, powering the car to a (highly theoretical) 4.0-second 0-60 mph run and 130 mph top speed, with range of about 30 miles.

And with potential production for the Emerg-E, it's more than just a pretty face.
