Buy a new BMW, and it comes with four years or 50,000 miles worth of service at no additional charge, something the Munich-based automaker calls “BMW Ultimate Service.”

Unlike other “free service” programs, which cover things like oil changes and basic maintenance only, BMW extends service coverage to include items like brake pads, wiper blades and brake fluid changes, too.

Effectively communicating this somewhat-dry message to the general public is best done with a bit of humor, as seen in the videos above and below. Told that BMW has taken care of everything, customers react in some surprising ways, to the discomfort of their service advisers.

BMW’s Ultimate Service program also includes four years of the automaker’s “Safety Assist” plan, which is similar to GM’s OnStar service. Also included is unlimited-mileage roadside assistance, available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

It’s worth noting that not everything is covered by BMW’s Ultimate Service plan, too. Tires, for example, are excluded, and oil changes are at factory-recommended intervals. If waiting the requisite 10k miles or so between oil changes makes you as nervous as it does us, you’ll be paying for intermediate oil changes out of your own pocket.
