Even though it's already been revealed in full detail, right down to the body-in-white and all of its high-tech details, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL Class still merits some attention as it makes its in-the-metal debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

Sure, it has some quirky styling in places, but on the whole, it's a striking roadster with an incredible interior. These photos show the SL as it looks in real life--or as close as most will get for a few months yet. We think the proportions, if not all of the details, work very well for the new SL.
