When it comes to sliding a two-ton, rear-drive pony car with 426 horsepower on tap around corners, there’s a right way to go about it and a wrong way.

Do it right, and you end up with the footage you see here. Do it wrong, and you end up with a face full of airbag and a big repair bill that won’t be covered under warranty.

Of course Yvan Muller, the driver seen here, has a bit of experience behind the wheel. He’s a three-time World Touring Car Champion who’s also taken the Andros Trophy Ice Racing Championship a record-shattering ten times.

He’s raced in the 24 Hours of LeMans, the World Rally Championship and the Dakar Rally, and has even represented France in the 2007 Race of Champions, driving alongside Sebastian Bourdais. Chances are good he’s faster than you, on any surface you’d care to pick.

Look close enough and you’ll see that both a Euro-spec Chevy Camaro (with the stubby side view mirrors and integrated turn signals at 0:35-0:37) and a U.S.-spec Camaro were used in the filming, which took place at the Circuito de Navarra in Northern Spain.

Despite the lack of ice, Muller had no trouble in getting the Camaro sideways. We admire the production value of this video, but we’ll bet that the exploding-airbag-drift-Camaro video still has more hits on YouTube.
