Here’s what we know: BMW has released a video of a mysterious X6 M, complete with fuzzed-out headlights and tail lights, playing on a mountain pass somewhere in Europe. The video allegedly shows the rumored X6 M550d, which may well have the distinction of being the very first diesel model to wear the M badge.

As GT Spirit points out, the blurred head and tail lights likely suggest new lighting, probably LED based, like the facelifted X6 will use. There aren’t any more details on the mysterious uber-crossover, but speculation is that it will put out around 500 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque.

If that turns out to be the case, expect an even quicker 0-60 mph time than the “ordinary” X6 M, which casually saunters to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. In case you’re keeping score, that is indeed quicker than both the outgoing BMW M5 (which takes 4.7 seconds) and the 2011 BMW M3 sedan (which takes 4.8 seconds).

It may be wildly impractical and priced beyond most people’s means, but we still call the X6 M (and the rumored X6 M550d) our kind of grocery-getters.
