BMW i8 Concept in Mission Impossible 4

BMW i8 Concept in Mission Impossible 4

It’s no secret that a number of BMW cars are set to feature in the upcoming Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol movie opening nationwide this December.

However, in case there are any individuals out there who just aren’t up to speed, BMW is launching a new Mission Impossible-themed marketing campaign dubbed "Mission to Drive."

The new program will include a number of online and in-dealer activities, including a "self-destructing" sales offer running now through January 2. In addition to the new incentives, BMW dealers will be offering a number of special screenings of the film for loyal customers and a contest that will award an all-expense paid trip to the Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol U.S. premiere, which takes place on December 16.

For BMW to lend its cars for use in the new movie, the decision was easy. The appearance of the cars provides an opportunity to showcase not only BMW's vision for future vehicles but to highlight some of the newest models available today--in front of a worldwide audience.

Also coinciding with today’s announcement, an extended trailer for the movie has been released showing even more of the BMW cars that will appear on screen. Some of the cars worth mentioning are the 2014 BMW i8, well, the working prototype of the upcoming plug-in hybrid supercar, as well as the recently launched 2012 BMW 6-Series Convertible.

One interesting scene gives us a brief inside look at the i8, which reveals a futuristic touch-screen head-up-display similar to the technologies previewed recently under the ConnectedDrive heading. Enjoy the full trailer below.
