2012 Fisker Karma
The
Fisker Karma is all over the news of late, having finally earned its EPA certification, enabling retail sale. The EPA also delivered less-than-stellar gas mileage ratings for the Karma, however, scoring the luxury plug-in hybrid at
just 20 mpg in range-extended (gasoline) mode and 52 mpg-equivalent in all-electric mode.
Those figures have led some to question the validity of the Department of Energy's alternative-fuel technology loan program, while others are simply wondering where Fisker went wrong in the design. Still others are taking a common sense approach and noting that although those aren't great figures for an extended-range electric vehicle, they're pretty solid for a large luxury sedan.
Whatever your take on the Karma's gas mileage or lack thereof, however, as this gallery of the 2012 production model shows, it's an arrestingly attractive car.
